Required to obtain the MD Wear & Carry Permit (CCW). On July 5, 2022, Governor Larry Hogan directed the Maryland State Police to suspend the "Good and Substantial Reason" standard for Wear and Carry Permits. Our class covers the Maryland state-required course materials as well as instructor-guided range training to ensure trainees meet the gun safety, application process and proficiency requirement during the 50 round live-fire qualification. The MD Wear and Carry Permit class, as required by the MD State Police, is a sixteen (16) hour class divided into one (1) eight hour class and two (2) four hour classes. Participants must attend each required session. FOR THE FIRST TWO SESSIONS, PLEASE DO NOT BRING HANDGUNS TO CLASS. The last session is the range qualification and participants may bring their own firearm. Please follow the MD gun laws for transporting a firearm. Select Fire will provide one (1) box of ammo for the live fire practice prior to qualification. Select Fire will have ammo for sale to perform the range qualification that is required to obtain the MD Wear and Carry Permit.
